We are looking to hire full-time positions, Monday through Friday (see our business hours).
No experience is required for any of the following, but it is a plus! We always look forward to training the right person for the job.

Optometric Technician

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist optometrist with patient examinations, including taking patient history and documenting chief complaints
  • Perform various diagnostic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity testing, tonometry, and retinal imaging
  • Prepare patients for specialized testing, such as visual field testing or corneal topography
  • Educate patients on contact lens insertion and removal techniques, as well as proper care and maintenance
  • Administer eye drops or medications as directed by the optometrist
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Provide support to front desk staff, including scheduling appointments and answering phone calls
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working in a medical office or optometry setting preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology and pediatric optometry is a plus
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues
  • Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control measures

Optician

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • One Team, Excellence, Accountability & Kindness
  • Order entry processing and vision insurance claims submission
  • Daily job tracking to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Repairs/Adjustments to glasses
  • Sales / Checking out patients / Scheduling appointments
  • Optical knowledge to include understanding RX, lens materials and frame selecting.
  • Assist other areas when needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic, efficient, and resourceful
  • Friendly and fashionable
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Proficient in the use of computers
  • Self-motivated, organized and attentive to detail
  • Sales experience (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Operations Specialist

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Upholding the Cary Family Eye Care mission & core values
  • Check in & check out patients
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Answering phones
  • Insurance verification
  • Assisting patients to understand their plan benefits
  • Prepare charts
  • Collect balances & post payments
  • Issue receipts & rebates
  • Scanning and other various office duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with health insurance – strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Poise & professionalism
  • Self-directed
  • Previous experience in a medical, optometry, ophthalmology, or optical setting is preferred, no experience necessary for the right person.
