A Functional Vision Assessment evaluates visual function and goes beyond 20/20 vision. Visual function is evaluated by a specialized testing of visual skills like eye teaming, eye tracking, eye focusing, and depth perception to determine if a patient has a visual system that can support their daily life. A sensorimotor exam is performed at the assessment. This exam evaluates if a patient would be a good candidate for Vision Therapy. If Vision Therapy is warranted a referral is made to Cary Vision Therapy and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation.
This service is provided by our Developmental Optometrist, Dr. Logan Lineberry. A Developmental Optometrist or Behavioral Optometrist is a doctor who specializes in the visual development and function of the eyes.
