What Is Overnight Sight?
The Overnight Sight Program is a non-surgical vision correction alternative to wearing glasses or daily-wear contact lenses.
This FDA-approved method involves wearing custom-made orthokeratology (ortho-k) contact lenses while you sleep. These specialized molds gently reshape the surface of your eye overnight, allowing you to see clearly throughout the following day without the need for corrective eyewear.
Our Overnight Sight Program is available to both children and adults with eligible prescriptions. If you’re interested in exploring ortho-k, book an appointment with us.

How Does Ortho-K Work?
To understand orthokeratology, it helps to look at the cornea (the clear, dome-shaped front surface of your eye). The shape of the cornea determines how light is focused onto the retina; if the cornea is too curved, vision becomes blurry.
Ortho-k lenses are custom-designed to match your eyes’ unique measurements. While you sleep, these oxygen-permeable lenses apply gentle pressure that subtly reshapes the cornea. When you remove the lenses in the morning, your cornea maintains this new shape for the duration of the day, providing clear vision.
What Are the Benefits of Ortho-K?
Ortho-k offers a unique set of advantages for individuals seeking freedom from daytime lenses or those who are not candidates for surgery. Benefits include:
- Clear vision all day: Enjoy sharp sight from the moment you wake up until you go back to sleep.
- Lifestyle convenience: Ideal for athletes, swimmers, and those working in dusty or dry environments where glasses or contacts are a hindrance.
- Non-surgical and reversible: Unlike LASIK, the effects of ortho-k are temporary. If you stop wearing the lenses, your eyes will return to their original shape.
- Myopia control for children: For younger patients, ortho-k is a clinically proven method to slow down the progression of nearsightedness (myopia), reducing the risk of high prescriptions and eye health issues later in life.
- Comfort: Because the lenses are only worn during sleep, many patients find them more comfortable than wearing traditional contacts during the day.
Is Ortho-K Right for You?
Ortho-k is a frequent choice for patients who struggle with daytime contact lens discomfort. While many people are candidates for the program, an optometrist will need to assess your prescription to make sure Overnight Sight is the right fit for the specific anatomy of your eyes and your lifestyle needs.
We also recommend ortho-k for children with myopia who struggle with daytime contact lenses or glasses due to activities, preferences, or individual needs. They are also very beneficial for swimmers and other water-related athletes who cannot wear contact lenses.

How to Clean Your Overnight Sight Molds
Maintaining the hygiene of your custom molds is critical for eye health. We recommend using the Progent protein remover system periodically as directed. To clean your molds:
- Preparation: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Then, place the lenses into the designated “left” and “right” holders in the cap of the Progent vial.
- Progent A: Open one container of Progent A and gently squeeze all the liquid into the Progent Vial.
- Progent B: Open Progent B and gently squeeze all the liquid into the Progent Vial with Progent A.
- The Soak: Close the vial securely and shake it gently. Let the lenses soak for exactly 30 minutes. Do not exceed this time, as it can damage the lenses.
- Rinsing: Remove the Progent Vial cap and keep molds in the holders. Discard the Progent mixture in the sink. Then, open the Progent Rinsing Solution and gently squeeze all of the liquid into the Progent Vial. Close the cap on the Progent Vial and shake gently for about 30 seconds. Do not use tap water to rinse your lenses.
- Final Step: After rinsing, you may proceed with your usual daily cleaning and disinfecting routine before storage or wear.
